An exceptional estate dedicated to the excellence of Geisha

Nestled in the mountains near the village of Nueva Suiza, in Volcán, Panama, Finca Sophia is a high-altitude farm where time, silence, and nature shape coffees of rare precision. Founded in 2008 on the initiative of Willem Boot, a pioneer in specialty coffee, alongside Helen Russell and David Pohl, the finca was born out of a shared vision: to create a place where coffee expresses itself in perfect harmony with its environment.

Finca Sophia evolves in tune with its ecosystem. Coffee is grown here with extreme care, in the heart of a preserved landscape adjacent to La Amistad International Park. Under the leadership of Kelly Hartmann, the farm has incorporated large buffer zones dedicated to biodiversity, allowing local flora and fauna to coexist naturally with the coffee trees.

This respectful approach to life is at the heart of the finca's identity. This constant commitment has enabled Finca Sophia to establish itself as one of the world's leading specialty coffee producers.

Its Geisha coffees are regularly recognized at Best of Panama, demonstrating exceptional expertise and a constant pursuit of excellence, with remarkable rankings in Geisha Washed and Geisha Natural in recent years.
