Rugori Experimental [Washed Anaerobic]

Grown in the highlands of Rwanda’s Western Province, in the Macuba region, this exceptional coffee is the result of the meticulous work carried out at the Gasharu washing station, which has been managed by Valentin Kimenyi since 2014.

This specific lot, named “Rugori” (the Women’s Crown), pays tribute to the central role women play in Rwandan coffee farming: it is produced and processed exclusively by women to ensure that the profits from this harvest directly support their independence and their households.

This coffee is processed using an experimental anaerobic washing method. This controlled fermentation process, carried out in the absence of oxygen, enhances the bean’s natural complexity, resulting in a flavor profile that is both lively and rich.

In the cup, you’ll discover a distinct acidity with notes of cranberry and raspberry jam, balanced by a deep cocoa bean base.
