Eudis Orosco [SL9 Washed]

Drawing on the ancestral traditions of the Incahuasi cooperative, Eudis Orosco and Victoria Atao grow coffee in complete harmony with the Peruvian ecosystem, applying Inca agroforestry principles that follow the cycles of the moon.

On their two plots, Bella Vista and Finca Paulette, they have successfully revived the Geisha Inca (a local mutation of the Ethiopian SL9 variety), which was once neglected due to its low productivity but is now thriving thanks to high-altitude cultivation.

Their approach is rooted in deep community collaboration, drawing on the concepts of Minka and Ayni (collective work and mutual aid), which allows them to transform ancestral expertise into exceptional coffee while preserving the biodiversity and social fabric of their community.

For this batch, the cherries undergo dry fermentation for 24 to 36 hours in their own pulp. This eco-friendly method, which benefits from the cool climate that helps stabilize the aromas, is followed by a final rinse.

In the cup, this coffee reveals a profile of great elegance: it opens with delicate, deep notes of black tea, before giving way to the lively acidity of raspberry and pomegranate. This fruity complexity is perfectly balanced by the juicy sweetness of mandarin, offering a sensory experience that is both vibrant and harmonious.
