CAFE GRANJA LA ESPERANZA
The art of innovating without betraying tradition
Café Granja La Esperanza is a Colombian family business founded in 1945 by Juan Antonio Herrera and Blanca Ligia Correa. Now managed by their descendants Rigoberto and Luis Herrera, it has become a global benchmark in specialty coffee.
Located in the Cauca Valley, it encompasses several high-altitude farms, including Potosi, Cerro Azul, La Esperanza, and Las Margaritas.
A pioneer in introducing the Geisha variety to Colombia, the company is renowned for its rigorous expertise, innovative methods (Honey, Natural, extended fermentations), and coffees with complex aromatic profiles. CGLE has also developed hybrid varieties like "Mandela" and implemented programs to enhance productivity, resilience, and cup quality.
