Located at an altitude of 1,900–2,100 meters in the Andean region of Saraguro, Hacienda La Papaya is a pioneering Ecuadorian specialty coffee farm, founded by Juan Peña in 2010.
A true center of research and innovation, the finca combines scientific rigor with respect for the terroir: drip irrigation, sensor monitoring, controlled drying, and a unique genetic bank preserving the most sought-after varieties (Geisha, Sidra, Pacamara, Typica, Yellow Bourbon, etc.).
Beyond quality, Hacienda La Papaya plays an essential social role by employing the local community, particularly women, and training the next generation of producers.
Year after year, the result remains unchanged: refined, complex, and consistent coffees that regularly win international awards.
